How Farm Commons Got Its Flow Back A Complete Platform Rebuild

Project Overview
Farm Commons is an organization that is dedicated to helping farmers, ranchers, and agricultural professionals build legal resilience. Through online workshops, memberships, and a vast legal resource library, they’ve created a national hub for community-based legal education.
However, as their membership grew and their learning ecosystem expanded, the organization began to experience technical and performance challenges that slowed down user engagement and strained administrative operations. That’s when they turned to WooNinjas to restore stability, optimize performance, and future-proof their digital infrastructure.

Our Tech Stack
Our Solution
We approached Farm Commons’ challenges as a complete performance and reliability overhaul, not a series of minor fixes. The goal was to build a stable, high-performing, and scalable system that could keep up with their growing membership base and expanding educational offerings.
01
Hosting & Infrastructure Overhaul
We’ve successfully completed the migration from WP Engine to Cloudways on the staging environment. This setup includes Redis object caching, Cloudflare Enterprise CDN, and dynamic scaling. Even in staging, we’re already seeing faster load times, lower latency for global users, and smoother developer workflows.
Once everything checks out, we’ll move the same configuration to production, giving the live site the stability and speed it needs to handle heavy workshop sign-up traffic without missing a beat.
02
Comprehensive Speed Optimization
Our team implemented a full front-end and back-end optimization, including asset minification, lazy loading, optimized caching policies, and database cleanup. These changes resulted in significant improvements to page load speed and stability across all devices.
03
Payment & Membership Stability
We rebuilt the Stripe–MemberPress connection from the ground up, fixing duplicate payment issues and making sure every transaction linked correctly to the right membership and course. By simplifying how plan changes worked, we stopped data from slipping through during upgrades or downgrades. The result: fewer admin headaches and a smoother experience for users.
For early membership expiry, we’ve applied a fix to ensure memberships now stay active until their actual end date. Expiration emails will only be sent once the membership truly ends, preventing any premature notices.
04
Learning Experience Enhancements
We resolved all LearnDash enrollment conflicts, restored missing “Enroll Now” buttons, and corrected broken course and resource links. These fixes streamlined the learning journey and improved conversion rates for workshop registrations.
05
Communication and User Support
We rebuilt the support form and revamped the automated emails so messages reached the right people with clear sender details. That small change made support faster and helped members feel more confident that they were being heard.
06
Multilingual and Accessibility Fixes
We identified and corrected issues in Spanish-language course pages, ensuring consistent, accessible experiences for bilingual members and reinforcing Farm Commons’ commitment to inclusivity.
By addressing performance, structure, and experience at every level, we transformed Farm Commons’ digital ecosystem into a faster, more resilient, and future-ready platform.

Outcome
The impact of this transformation was both immediate and lasting:
With these improvements, Farm Commons’ website now reflects the same resilience and clarity that the organization teaches. Their digital foundation is ready to support years of continued growth, education, and community collaboration.
