Managing quizzes in LifterLMS becomes much more efficient with LifterLMS Quiz Import/Export and its DOCX-based import and export functionality. This feature allows you to create, edit, and transfer quiz content using structured Word documents, reducing manual work inside the LMS and enabling a cleaner, content-first workflow.

Import Quizzes Using DOCX Files

LifterLMS Quiz Import/Export allows you to import quizzes using separate DOCX files for questions and answers. This structured approach ensures accurate quiz creation while giving you full control over content formatting.

Steps to Import Quizzes from DOCX:

1. Select the quiz’s question file in the “Questions DOCX” field
2. Select the quiz’s answer file in the “Answers DOCX” field
3. Click the “Import DOCX” button to start the import process

If you want to replace existing quiz content:

• Enable the Delete Existing Questions toggle
• When enabled, all existing questions in the selected quiz will be removed before importing the new ones

Important Note:
Quizzes imported using DOCX files will not update quiz settings based on the options configured in the “Quiz Import Options” tab.

Use Ready-to-Download DOCX Templates

To simplify quiz creation, the add-on provides built-in templates:

• Click Download DOCX Template to get a ZIP file
• The ZIP includes structured question and answer DOCX files
• Edit these files and use them for import

This ensures your formatting stays consistent and compatible with the system.

Export Quizzes in DOCX Format

You can also export quizzes into DOCX format for editing, backup, or migration to another site.

Steps to Export a Quiz:

1. Navigate to LifterLMS > Courses > Lessons
2. Locate the lesson that contains the quiz
3. Click the Export DOCX button next to the lesson

The system will download:

• A ZIP file containing
  • The quiz’s question DOCX file
  • The quiz’s answer DOCX file

These files can be edited and re-imported whenever needed.

Bulk Export Quizzes

To export multiple quizzes at once:

1. Select the quizzes you want to export
2. From the Bulk Actions dropdown, choose Export XLSX Quiz
3. Click Apply

This allows you to quickly export multiple quizzes for backup or migration purposes.
