Made for Math LMS Migration Case Study

Made for Math

Here’s how we migrated an online education platform from TrainerCentral to LearnDash while preserving learner progress, improving automation, and building a scalable LMS for future growth.

Project Overview

Made for Math provides online math education for students with dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD, autism, and other learning differences. As the organization continued to grow, its existing TrainerCentral platform could no longer provide the flexibility and control needed to support expanding programs and future business goals.

The client wanted to migrate to WordPress, LearnDash, and WooCommerce without affecting active learners. This meant moving courses, users, enrollments, and learning progress while keeping the transition as smooth as possible. At the same time, they wanted a platform that would be easier to manage, support automation, and give them full ownership of their learning environment.

Instead of starting development immediately, we first reviewed the client’s existing platform, workflows, and long-term goals. This allowed us to create a migration strategy that reduced risk and ensured every stage of the project was carefully planned before implementation began.

Our goal was to build more than a replacement LMS. We focused on creating a reliable, scalable learning platform that improves day-to-day operations while providing a strong foundation for future growth. The result is a modern LearnDash platform that gives Made for Math greater flexibility, better automation, and complete control over its online learning experience.

The Challenges

Migrating from TrainerCentral to LearnDash involved much more than moving courses from one platform to another. The client needed to preserve users, enrollments, learner progress, and course content while ensuring that active students could continue learning without interruption. At the same time, the new platform had to provide greater flexibility, better automation, and complete ownership of the learning environment to support the organization’s future growth.

Several technical and operational challenges had to be addressed:

Rather than treating the project as a simple platform migration, WooNinjas developed a phased migration strategy that prioritized business continuity, protected learner data, and created a scalable learning platform designed to support the client’s long-term goals.

Automated Live Learning

We started the project with a detailed discovery and planning phase to understand the client’s existing platform, workflows, and long-term goals. Instead of performing a simple platform migration, we developed a phased implementation strategy that reduced risk and ensured every part of the migration was carefully tested before launch.

Our team built a new LearnDash and WooCommerce platform, created custom migration scripts to transfer users, enrollments, and learner progress, and validated the migrated data to ensure accuracy. We also reviewed the client’s automation processes and recommended improvements using LearnDash Notifications alongside Zapier to reduce manual work and improve communication. Throughout the project, we continued providing technical guidance on future platform improvements beyond the original migration scope.

Result

The migration gave Made for Math a modern learning platform that is easier to manage, more flexible, and ready to support future growth. Learners were able to continue their courses with their progress preserved, while administrators benefited from improved automation and simpler platform management. By moving to LearnDash and WooCommerce, the client gained full ownership of its LMS and a scalable foundation for future improvements. Beyond the migration itself, the project established a long-term technology partnership that continues to support the organization’s evolving educational programs and business goals.
